Kerry's 1971' Testimony
You know, the revisiting of Kerry's 1971 congressional testimony about war atrocities may not be a bad thing. As a combat Vietnam Vet, I remember how I felt when I first heard this young Navy Lieutenant testify. I had been home from Vietnam for 4 years. Since I had been away from the war for so long, I believed Kerry. I thought to myself, "things sure have changed over there, hell, we were winning when I left."
I was ashamed, and like many of my brothers and sisters who served honorably in Vietnam, I stopped talking about my experiences there. Even though I never did anything wrong, "I thought my friends would think poorly of me". Now, I know Kerry lied, there are just too many vets coming forward saying, "it wasn't that way in Vietnam".
It wasn't that way, and I feel better now. I'm proud to say I am a Vietnam Veteran who fought for his country. If you want to listen, I will tell you about my experiences there. I have nothing to be ashamed of.
By the way, God Bless Zell and God Bless the Marine Corps!
